Polson Histroy Museum

Where are we going today?

Of the twenty-six rooms we occupy, we use seventeen for exhibits. We display thousands of artifacts, documents, and photos upstairs and down.

Upstairs you'll see, besides the Little Hoquiam Railroad in our logging room, historic exhibits in our sports room, children's room, period costume room, and stairway gallery. After the Little Hoquiam Railroad, a favorite for kids is the Polson's daughters' childhood doll house.
China Display

Downstairs in our dining room we feature Native artifacts elsewhere an extensive China display, Polson family exhibit, and remodeled 1920's period kitchen. Unfortunately, our kitchenware offers no food.

Our living room houses our current temporary exhibit, A Walk in the Woods, 80 Years of Rayonier, a photo exhibit produced by the forest products company, Rayonier, Inc., that had its beginnings in the Polson Logging Company. In color and black and white, it includes historic and current photos of the still-evolving forestry practices here on Grays Harbor. We have this, and much more.

Are we there yet?

From Seattle take Interstate 5 South and take Exit 104 west at Olympia to Aberdeen. We're four miles beyond downtown. In Hoquiam look for our signs to the right before the northbound bridge.

From Portland take Interstate 5 North and take Exit 88B west beyond Centralia to Aberdeen. Again, in Hoquiam look for our signs to the right before the bridge.

From Astoria take Highway 101 North to Aberdeen and then Hoquiam. Again, look for our signs to the right.

From Forks take Highway 101 South to Hoquiam, staying left on the southbound bridge beyond the city center. Turn left at 23rd Street and left again onto 101 North. We're on the right.
